Project Officer (Heritage Consultancy)
We are delighted to offer this exciting opportunity to join our rapidly expanding heritage consultancy team. We are seeking a highly motivated, conscientious and experienced heritage consultant to join our consultancy team, which sits within the wider framework of the TPA field unit, a subsidiary of the York Archaeological Trust. You will have the opportunity to work alongside highly skilled teams of archaeology and heritage professionals within the company, who specialise in a wide range of archaeological sub-disciplines including geoarchaeology, historic building assessment, geomatics and LiDAR, aerial photography and spatial analysis. The role will be based at our offices in Beeston, Nottingham.
Under the guidance of our Heritage Consultancy Project Manager, you will be expected to compile a full range of heritage and archaeology planning reports, to include desk-based assessments, EIA chapters, heritage statements, historic environment impact assessments and feasibility studies. As such we require a candidate with experience of these reports, and demonstrable writing skills to a professional standard. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience and a thorough understanding of setting assessment, and some experience of historic building assessment. Key to the role will be liaison with clients, local authority planning personnel, statutory bodies and other stakeholders, so excellent interpersonal skills are of paramount importance, as is a thorough knowledge of the UK planning system.
